Health Benefits of Pineapple
Pineapples are a great source of antioxidants which help your body combat oxidative stress. These antioxidants may reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers. It is also important to note that the antioxidants in pineapples have longer lasting effects in the body given that these are “bound” antioxidants.
Pineapples are a tremendous source for Vitamin C and Manganese. As we all know, Vitamin C is essential for growth and development, a healthy immune system and aiding the absorption of iron from the diet. Manganese is a naturally occurring mineral that aids growth and maintains a healthy metabolism in order to maintain the living state of the cells and the organism in the body .
We include a teaspoon of flaxseeds into this juice, as the taste when mixed is neutral and is a good way to boost omega-3 fatty acids and protein in your daily diet. In fact, just the one teaspoon will provide over 50% of the recommended daily intake of Omega 3’s!
The celery, carrots and ginger have amazing nutritional benefit in their own right, and their combination with the other ingredients makes this juice that much healthier and tastier.
