Vegan Detox Juice

Growing up I was always obsessed with pineapples. So it makes sense that I now try to have as much of it as I can. By incorporating it with our other juice cleanse recipes, it is a great way to quickly reset the body’s digestive system or form part of a greater juice detox program.

By combining the fresh pineapple together with other healthy fruits and vegetables in this recipe, it will ensure that you kick start your day the right way!

This juice is super easy to make and so tasty – as you can tell from the pictures! Not only does it taste amazing, but it has such tremendous health benefits that it is a great way to cleanse your body and run more efficiently!

How Healthy Is This Juice?

This juice has amazing health benefits: from its detoxifying properties, to its ability to aid absorption of nutrients from other foods, to the boost of antioxidants and combating oxidative stress in the body. This all helps in boosting your immune system, aiding digestion and reducing the risk of certain types of chronic diseases.

It is very light at just 104 calories per serving and the combination of fresh pineapple, celery and cucumber gives you an amazing clean boost of energy and clearer focus.

On top of this, the flaxseeds and chia seeds (which you won’t even notice once mixed) will give you approximately 90% of the RDI for Omega 3 Fatty Acids!

Juices such as these are an efficient way to get more essential vitamins and minerals into your body on a daily basis and gently cleanse the body in an easy and stress free manner.

Make sure to easily get your antioxidants and micronutrients for the day in just one glass with this cleansing cucumber pineapple juice. Its taste is perfectly balanced and has amazing anti-inflammatory, detox and weight loss benefits!

Ingredients

  • 5 Oz. Cucumber

  • 10.5 Oz. Pineapple

  • 2 medium 2 Celery ribs

  • 2 slices 2 Ginger

  • 1/2 Lemon

  • 1 tsp. 1 Flaxseed (optional)*

  • 1 tsp. 1 Chia Seeds (optional)

  • 50 ml 50 Water

  • Handful Ice Cubes

Directions

  • Wash the cucumber, pineapple and celery well, chop into small pieces and add into your juicer or blender.**
  • Next, add the ginger, lemon, flaxseeds and chia seeds
  • Lastly, add the water and ice and blend for approximately 1 minute, or until all ingredients are blended well.
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy!***

Notes

  • *If you´re using a juicer, opt for ground flaxseeds as whole flaxseeds will pass straight through the juicer. If using a blender/Nutribullet, you can use either whole or ground flaxseeds.
  • **The large fruit and vegetable pieces sitting at the bottom will assist the blending of the flaxseeds and chia seeds.
  • ***Be sure to drink the juice as soon as it has been blended. This is because the nutrients of the juice degrade over time due to oxygen exposure.
  • TO STORE: This juice can last about 24 hours in the fridge without losing any nutrients if sealed properly. Notwithstanding the nutrients degrading after 24 hours, you can store this juice in the fridge for up to 48 hours.

What is the best time to drink this amazing juice?

    • Thanks for the question! Personally I always have this juice in the morning. Gives me a great boost of clean energy for the day 🙂

    • I made this this morning, how.often should I drink them?
I hear it’s meant to help with weight loss. I hope it does!
It was lovely and fresh but the pineapple have burned my mouth and throat lol! Any replies would be great, thanks

      • Glad to see you tried it out! I have it at least 3 times a week in the morning – find it a great way to start the day. It certainly can be incorporated into a healthy weight loss program as it reduces inflammation and gives a natural boost of energy for exercise! I have not heard of pineapples having that effect before and has not happened to me before – perhaps it was just a random bad one.

  3. How often should you drink this drink.
By the way it was lovely 😊 thank you

  4. Wonderful, love the feeling that I am putting goodness into my body. Will be back for more.

  5. What benefits does the lemon and celery have?

    • There are many benefits of lemon and celery on the body, which is why I like to combine them together (not to mention the great flavour combination). Some of the benefits are the cleansing effects of the liver, improving digestion and providing a range of essential vitamins and minerals – especially vitamins C & K.

  6. Will be trying this detox tomorrow.

  7. Very tasty combo. thanks for sharing this!!

  8. Can I use canned pineapple in 100% pineapple juice

    • Hi Bekki. You can certainly use canned pineapples instead of fresh pineapple for this recipe! However I should say it will come out sweeter with canned pineapples 🙂

    • Laura Mazerolle

I kow using fresh fruits is best, however, can this recipe be drank as a smoothie, will it detox as well as drinking the juice? I have a Vitamix for making great smoothies, on the other hand, my juicer isn’t a powerful one and I’d waste more of the pineapple trying to juice it. That’s why I’m asking the first question. Thanks!

  9. This is a great recipe! I made it today and it was so refreshing and delicious!

    Do I peel the lemon

    • If you have a good juicer, there is no need to peel the lemon. If you are making the juice with a blender, you can simply add the juice of the lemon to it rather than the whole lemon! 🙂

  14. Thank you for the wonderful blog which helps me a lot.I have been having the cucumber and Pineapple juice with a bit of alteration to the ingredients and it helps me to control my diet and cravings for sugar surprisingly.
